    In the mid seventies I purchased a boxed set of albums from the well established UK division of Reader's Digest. I was impressed, not only with the quality of the vinyl, but the fact that, unlike many of their contemporary compilation competitors, they actually used the original recordings.

    Reissue Series for RCA Victor and RCA Victor Red Seal, with first releases in March Most of these releases were reissues of 78 RPM masters that, RCA wrote, "are felt to retain interest to the collector in spite of their older date." This material was released in the form of 45 RPM boxed sets (WPT prefix), 10" LPs (LPT prefix).

    May 08,  · I first discovered this wonderful version of one of my favorite classical works in the early '80s, on a London Stereo Treasury LP that had to have been pressed from the noisiest vinyl ever manufactured -- the sound was awful, but the performance was stunning.
